Western blot analysis of Adrenomedullin/ADM using anti-Adrenomedullin/ADM antibody (BA0629). The sample well of each lane was loaded with 30 ug of sample under reducing conditions.
Lane 1: Rat brain tissue lysates.
After electrophoresis, proteins were transferred to a membrane. Then the membrane was incubated with rabbit anti-Adrenomedullin/ADM antigen affinity purified polyclonal antibody (BA0629) at a dilution of 1:1000 and probed with a goat anti-rabbit IgG-HRP secondary antibody (Catalog # BA1054). The signal is developed using ECL Plus Western Blotting Substrate (Catalog # AR1197). A specific band was detected for Adrenomedullin/ADM at approximately 20 kDa. The expected band size for Adrenomedullin/ADM is at 20 kDa.

IHC analysis of Adrenomedullin/ADM using anti-Adrenomedullin/ADM antibody (BA0629).
Adrenomedullin/ADM was detected in a paraffin-embedded section of ovarian cancer tissue. Biotinylated goat anti-rabbit IgG was used as secondary antibody. The tissue section was incubated with rabbit anti-Adrenomedullin/ADM Antibody (BA0629) at a dilution of 1:200 and developed using Strepavidin-Biotin-Complex (SABC) (Catalog # SA1022) with DAB (Catalog # AR1027) as the chromogen.

Adrenomedullin, a hypotensive peptide found in human pheochromocytoma, consists of 52 amino acids, has 1 intramolecular disulfide bond, and shows a slight homology with the calcitonin gene-related peptide. It may function as a hormone in circulation control because it is found in blood in a considerable concentration. The precursor, called preproadrenomedullin, is 185 amino acids long. By RNA-blot analysis, human adrenomedullin mRNA was found to be highly expressed in several tissues. Genomic ADM DNA consists of 4 exons and 3 introns, with the 5-prime flanking region containing TATA, CAAT, and GC boxes. There are also multiple binding sites for activator protein-2 and a cAMP-regulated enhancer element. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008]
